I'm Matthew Rogers, and I am a designer/brand strategist exploring a nomadic creative lifestyle. After 10+ years of building partnership-based design businesses and working in creative agencies and startups, I began to notice a sense of stagnancy. So, I decided to invest some of the fruits of my hard work into fully renovating and renting out my historic home. I now live and travel full time in a 31-foot RV with my dog (Doris-Akin),  and daughter (Ryely). Check out my journey at www.gomatthew.com

My home is a labor of love and I'm honored to share it with you. I am a 7th Generation Franklinite and co-owner of Rogers Homeport with my parents. I come from a military family (GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!) and my father served over 30 years as a distinguished Naval Officer. Together, we own and operate 3 beautiful and unique properties all located in the heart of Downtown Franklin, a short walk from everything.

You won’t find friendlier folks to welcome you to our little city and show you the best spots to go. We are true locals with hospitable, Southern charm.

I am an artist and a designer passionate about aesthetic, but I am equally passionate about being eco-conscious - so I took great care in repurposing almost all the original materials into something new and installing green fixtures and appliances where possible.

The house was 105 years old when I purchased it in 2009 and the red oak wood that supports it was 200 years old when the trees were cut down. It is truly a one-of-a-kind home decorated with art from local artists as well as some of my own work. The halls are filled with found objects, pictures of my family and loved ones, and a variety of interesting antiques, fossils and trinkets. I was a picker by the age of 12 and it shows.

The home is located central to all that Downtown Franklin has to offer: The public library, the Carter House, a new park near a historic civil war attraction, a great sushi spot called Shiki, and a lively local bar with the best burgers. Mere blocks away are antique stores and the Harpeth River canoe launch.

I have absolutely loved living on this quiet, quaint little street full of friendly neighbors and beautiful scenery - and I know you'll love it too.
